Facts about the World Series of Poker

The World Series of Poker is a yearly tournament including a series of events which are participated in by poker players in Las Vegas. Created by Benny Binion, the casino proprietor, the World Series of Poker tournament began in the 1970s and at the moment features 58 events with Texas Hold 'em being the most popular. One of the most famous tournaments for poker players in the world, the poker series rewards the winner with a substantial cash prize and a bracelet. Only Johnny Moss and Stu Ungar have won a hat-trick of poker titles during the poker competition whilst four players (Moss, Ungar, Doyle Bronson and Johnny Chan) have won back-to-back tournaments. The player who has been most successful in the World Series of Poker events is Wisconsin's Phil Hellmuth, who has won the World Series of Poker bracelets 11 times. The World Series of Poker has been won in 2010 by Jonathan Duhamel, the only Canadian to have won the title.
