European and American roulette wheel designs

Two variants of a roulette wheel are used - the American wheel and the European wheel. The key difference between both roulette wheels is that a single and double zero are found on the American roulette wheel, compared with the European wheel which only has one zero. Something else to consider is that if using an American-designed roulette wheel the numbers are placed in pairs opposite of each other. It has been proven therefore that the European roulette wheel is statistically more favourable to the punter than an American roulette wheel does. Although attempts have been made to triumph against the roulette wheel, such as Gonzalo Garcia-Pelayo's predictions at the Casino de Madrid, none of the plans were a success over a sustained period of playing.
