How do Allwin slot machines work?

Classic Allwin slot machines, better known as coin repeat wall machines, were a forerunner to contemporary pinball machines. Basically players push a coin through the slot, wait for the release of a ball bearing and do their best to coax it into a cup with the help of a spring. The game looks easy but requires skill and plenty of know-how. Antique multiple column Allwins, for example 'Many Happy Returns', 'The Fill 'Em Up' and 'What's My Line' were slightly harder because players had to make sure at least one whole column was filled to win a single game. With drop case slot machines, such as 'The Cascade' and 'The Smithy', ball bearings were completely eliminated and instead the actual coin slotted in by each player moved around the machine to deliver the cash in the payout channel. Other varieties of Allwin slot machine include 'Lucky Star', 'Cresta Run', 'Lucky Circle', 'Little Mickey', 'Playball' and 'The Flyer', which were distributed by B.M.Co in the early 1900s.
